There ya go.... your tax dollars at work, folks! We kick off in Denver next week, then on to the mega Republican bashes.
Yep, we, the taxpayers, are shelling out $17million bucks to each Party for these 4-day campaign ads.
The economy is suffering, we taxpayers are struggling to make ends meet, but the favored and monied will be partying and playing, to a large extent, on our dimes, for the next several weeks!
There are just some years when these extravaganza seem excessive and leave a bad taste in the mouth. In this, seemingly, endless election season I don't think we really need our tax dollars being spent on this in an effort to 'get to know' our candidates.
Unless you live under a rock, there is no American who doesn't know who the candidates are, and, basically, what their talking points are.
Our tax dollars could be better spent.

What a waste!!!
The only thing that's missing is the sign that says, "Let them eat cake!"
I have no problem with how anyone spends their own money, no matter how bad the economy ... but our hard earned money??? Now I have a problem!
I'm with you. I don't think I am going to be able to watch either convention.
On the positive side, I thought the "Saddleback Civil Forum" was a home run, especially for host Rick Warren. He should moderate the debates. How refreshing to have a civil exchange.
A ridiculous waste of time and money.
Tax dollars - meaning our campaign donations? Can't blame government for that...
I consider it a waste no matter where the money comes from. But then...I feel the same way about spending money on weddings! (we eloped)
Kelly's about the first other woman I've found that feels the same way about weddings.
